Accomplished!
It's been a pretty productive day. I kept several balls juggling, as normal, but I actually managed to get a lot accomplished.
New manga reviews at AoD:
Fushigi Yugi - vol. 2
Maison Ikkoku - vol. 3
With the recent departure of a lot of GMs from Dragonrealms, like
poet_ninja, my interest in the game is waning a little bit. I need a break - or as much of a break as I can take with Host, Mentor and Commander duties abound. I'm not going to leave it, I just need a little rest.
So, now I'm concentrating more on the manga review side of things. I've asked folks on the forums what titles they would like to see us (osaka, MartialStax and I) do more reviews of. There's several older titles that were released before things got into full gear. I'm looking forward to when the manga site formally premieres.
On the newspaper side of my life, I managed to get all but one of the pages done that I need to do for Discover TriCities and got the wedding page done for Sunday and an inside story mostly written. Some time in the next two weeks, Josh from WJHL is going to come and give me, Jen and Joe coaching lessons about the segments we do for the morning show.
On the fanfic side, I've gotten approximately half of chapter 45 of "Shikon no Go" written. I got derailed by being called to do other tasks this morning.
Several people asked me yesterday what did fandom_wank mean. To be honest, I wasn't familiar with the term until recently, when
missandrony explained it to me. The basis of it is taking a certain aspect of a fandom and making fun of it and some of the actions taken in regards to defending said fandom. This includes flamewars, etc.
Wanks can really be used to hurt people if taken in the wrong perspective. It just depends on how big of a grain of salt you take it with. Wanks are also used to harass people, which is really cruel. Wanking exists really for any community, whether you like Inuyasha, Harry Potter, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, etc.
There's actually quite a lot I would like to say about what happened yesterday, but I will most likely do it behind the safetynet of a locked post. Otherwise, it might wind up like those comments to the two posts below this one yesterday and saved to some random person's hard drive. ::grin::
