Me: You know, I never did a review of episode 5.

Friends list: Do it later! We want to see your reaction to episode 6! We're surprised you haven't downloaded it yet!

*skips opening and recap*

I can haz puppeh and kitteh? At first, I was wondering if the animators somehow got ahold of [livejournal.com profile] earthstar_chan's stuff. Seriously, they're cute! It looks like they're suppose to be getting the replica Sword of Light from Pokota for Duclis, which makes sense given that it can damage the Zanaffar Armor.

Wait a minute, Pokota! I thought we were done with this! Given what happened in episode 5, I thought Pokota was done leading Lina and the gang on the run. Seriously, this is getting old and Lina knows what's going on to a degree now. Granted, he never did clear Lina in the mage-tank incidents, so it's a safe bet she's still chasing him down over that and the events in Taforashia, as they discuss. There's some close-up shots of Lina in this scene that are really pretty and shows how much she has grown ... even if her chest hasn't. *ducks flying object*

This monk sure isn't Miroku... He actually treats the gang to a meal and doesn't bat an eyelash over how much food Lina and Gourry consumes. We shall ignore that everything in this town is shaped like a ball... In any case, he cottons onto Lina's tailsmans, which is a good thing to explain for newer viewers to the series. I wonder if he's related to Wizer...

Aqualord anyone? Seriously, this sounds like the festival that Lina enters Gourry and Lyos in during the sixth chapter of Knight of Aqualord. Lina enters the boys into the contest because the winner gets a large amount of money. The contests Gourry and Lyos enter - feats of strength, outeating each other, etc. resemble the ones shown here. Except they were actually clothed. But without the practical jokes, etc. that were eventually played on these people. The money is still there!

Or maybe this is a re-tread of Next? With Pokota entering the contest, it looks like a face-off between him and Lina's group similar to the dueling bodyguards episode and the Brass Rackets episode of Next - more going for the latter than the former, probably. But now we have the addition of Duclis's henchmen to also spice things up. With the Next-type feel of the series, it was a bit weird to suddenly hear background music from TRY - but it's some of my favorite from that series from the Lina-chan in Wonderland episode.

OMG, CAN'T UNSEE IT!!!! *dies* Great Prince Phil cameo. Love that we found out some stuff from his past! I COULD DO WITH HIM WEARING MORE CLOTHES!! *scrubs eyes with bleach* I love Amelia's reaction. She's now completely on board with this as well. Why do I have the feeling that Amelia's going to wind up ruining this wonderful legacy just because Lina's involved?

What the... WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE ON??? Wow, look at that great shot of Amelia in the eyecatch! Goes fantastic with the one ... of ... Zel ...

...

*jaw drops*

EW! GROSS! TERRIBLE!!! I can't unsee that one either!!! ACK!!! Not Gourry! NOT GOURRY!!! I think I'm traumatized. *whimpers and goes to see solace from Mike and Jac - who both proceed to laugh until they cry*

Well, Lina, at least your current design works out better than the last few... She must had drawn upon her golem-making experiences with Naga to pull this one off! Nice roping skills, Amelia! I love how when the race starts, Lina and Gourry look psyched to get started while Zel is moping in the background. Poor Zel. He hasn't had a lot to do in this episode ... up until they're in the tunnel. Looks like getting smacked in the race with rocks did wonders to get Zel moving!

By the way, is it really bad that I want the dog and cat beastmen to win? 'Cause I really do. They're adorable!

Lina? Guys? I wouldn't celebrate too soon... Though I am so iconning Lina and Gourry celebrating with them jumping up in the air while holding onto each other. I'm not sure what it's all about, but it looks like Lina has a solution and it ... involves ... shirtless.. Gourry...

*wobbles, then collapses out of chair, staring at the ceiling dazed. Kitties wander over. Peekaboo bats a D20 across the living room floor while Kirara spreads out on me and begins to purr*

*five minutes pass*

Um... okay, wow.. Totally makes up for the eyecatch: Actually, it's a really creative solution that Lina's come up with. I'm enjoying it because of the various reactions from everyone. Amelia's thrilled, Zel looks like he'd rather be shot than participate and Pokota is just mad. And ... shirtless Gourry. Making Phil-type poses. One part very silly, as Lina sees it, one part rather cute and one part ... hey, Zel/Amelia fans get their eye candy in episode 7 and Xelloss fans got theirs in episode 5. *enjoys this* It looks like a happy ending for everyone!

Until Amelia leaps on top of the boulders... Ouch... talk about demolishing a Saillune family legacy.

And that's it until episode 7, where we have everyone in modern-style clothes it seems! Lina looks really cute, Zel in a hoodie is... wow. Amelia's dress is recycled from TRY. I hope we see the dog and cat beastmen again!

Now, if you'll excuse me...

*goes back to a certain spot toward the end of the episode and is now in her happy place.*
