Guilty pleasure

I admit it. My guilty pleasure for the year is "Desperate Housewives."
It was a show that looked intriguing, but I didn't watch it until it had been on a month. Then one Sunday night, I turned on the DVR and watched all the episodes I had missed. Now I don't dare miss a new episode. I'm even keeping my cable box an extra week to make sure I catch next Sunday's episode after I get back from Montgomery.
It's the latest in a crop of TV shows I'm making an effort to watch and actually LIKE. Such as "Sex and the City." I've got to get the DVD sets for that series because TBS has hacked it up way too much.
I like smart shows with a lot of wit and humor. "Desperate Housewives" and "Sex and the City" has both. I don't want them to be sanitized for my own protection either. Granted, it's not "Dr. Quinn," what I used to watch in my teens. It's a far cry from it. But, they're all wonderfully written and I highly enjoy them - something I haven't found from American TV in a long time.
