What was [livejournal.com profile] kitesareevil right about?

That I would find a boyfriend when I least expected it.

That's right. We decided to go ahead and start dating.

No, not me and Stef. That's just ecchi and Bryan would have a problem with it. ;-) I'm dating Jeff.

The situation in Knoxville's become a bit clearer, and we're not sure if a job will open there tomorrow or if it won't happen for another two years. The consensus seems to think that it will be several months minimumn.

So, we hashed it all out last night, talked about the families and everything. I even introduced him to Stef. In fact, I left him alone in a chatroom with Stef after I went to bed...oh God...Stef...I still have him, don't I?

A job in Knoxville will be a hurdle to cross when we get to it. Until then, we will work on my portfolio and help to get my work stronger overall. I plan to pinch my pennies and fly out to San Jose for the annual Society of News Design conference at the end of September. It'll be $1000 for the trip (plane ticket, conference fees, food, etc.), but it will be well worth the price. Plus, don't a bunch of y'all live out there as well? I was offered a bedroom by another designer, but Stef thinks I can beg floor space from her friend Amy if she decides to fly up there to meet me.

Okay....I planned to go to the conference. I just looked at the vacation schedule and saw that Jennifer's already requested that week off! AAAUUGGGH!!! So, no conference for me. ::sigh:: She has seniority over me and Jan won't let me pull a "leave her alone with the entire section" for three weeks (I'm doing it in July and in December for Christmas.) Oh well, I'll still join the Society for News Design at least.

Maybe this is a sign that the money will be best used elsewhere, ne?
