Story Count

I just looked at my personal basket in Jazbox to clean out old notes, etc. I do keep every story I've written. I just realized that in the six and a half months I've been in Bristol, I've written 97-99 stories. This includes columns, sidebars, briefs, Progress, etc. I think there's one or two stories I wrote in my first few days here I didn't keep copies of. So, story #100 will be Thursday morning's 1A lede story provided we don't get bombed or something. I think that's pretty cool. I haven't realize I've written so much in the time I've been here. I can certainly say I didn't write 100 stories in the year I was in Selma. Yet, it doesn't feel like I've written that much at all. Wow.

I got an e-mail from a newspaper in Harrisonburg asking if I would apply for their vacant features editor position. I'm going to turn them down, but it's nice to be asked. The circulation is 32,000 and it's a beautiful growing city. I've been there before. But I'm still really happy in Bristol and I have another 18 months to go before I even think of going elsewhere. I mentioned to Bill that I'd been here six months and we're both amazed. It doesn't feel like it at all. On my birthday, it will be seven months.

Which reminds me! Eighteen more shopping days until my birthday? Are YOU prepared? ::wicked grin::
