Not the Ugly One!

I had a pretty good weekend. It was spent at home - as usual - which is how I liked it. I got into a very fun conversation with
ely_chan last night concerning the nature of fanfiction and why so many people on SMRFF have moved on from writing SM fanfiction. As Ely puts it, we were the ones who came up with the ideas that are cliche today. We need to grow as writers, therefore we move on.
That’s one of the main reasons I love writing “Inuyasha” right now. That is a series that to me pushes the envelope when it comes to taking characters and seeing what you can do with them. There is an extremely fine line between IC and OOC in this series and it’s very easy to go OOC. Today, for the first time, I’m writing a scene with Sesshomaru (other than his brief appearance in “Just a Rosary.”) It’s scaring me half to death! Inuyasha is hard enough to write as is. Sesshomaru? I’m already hitting my head against the wall and I haven’t even started typing yet! But if I don’t....::Megs looks at a rabid
kitesareevil. “Back! Back I say! Kite! KITE!”::
I still enjoy writing “Rurouni Kenshin” as well. There’s still plenty left to do with the characters. I just need to rewatch the series to the point where I can finish up “For This Dojo’s Honor.”
Oh! Someone told me in a FF.net review of “A Mischievous Kiss” that someone else drew fanart based on the story! Squee! My first fanart! I wrote the girl back and asked her where I could find it. Wow...someone did fanart on one of my stories....
I have decided to get my life more organized. I’m starting to bathe at night instead of in the morning so I can have more precious time sleeping. I’m also having to iron my clothes since my heatless dryer can’t do that now. So I’m adding that to my night to-do list, along with making my lunch. That way I can spend a few more minutes sleeping in the morning rather than rushing about trying to get stuff done. Let’s see how long this lasts.
I also beat Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link! FINALLY! It only took me nearly 16 years to do so. ::grins::
The one thing that sucked about the weekend was that some random guy IMs me on Yahoo and begins chatting. As usual, I was doing 12 different things at once, most of them in Dragonrealms. He asks me for a picture. I am extremely prudent about handing out my photo to perfect strangers so I didn’t do so. We keep talking, he keeps asking and I keep saying no. He then commented I must be a really ugly girl then.
::FUME::
I promptly told said jerk off. I informed him that if he feels looks are all that’s important to a relationship then he was not ready to be in one, then blocked him. Still, that comment stung. A lot. So I curled up on the couch with Peekaboo and proceeded to have a nice little cry. Peekaboo’s a very nice kitty to have around when you’re sad. He’ll lick your face until you cheer up. Anyhow, I am NOT ugly. I have lost 50 pounds in the past five and a half years and I am so proud of that. I cleanup pretty nice! Still, no matter how good your self-esteem is at times, statement like that just hurt. And this guy claims to go to church too according to his profile. Keh!
