Well, after a long talk with Michelle. ::hugs ropa-chan:: I'm going to try to be a bit more vocal in my journal entries. She says it helps her so much to vent. I feel like I have so much going on inside my mind that at times it's hard to sit down and put those feelings on paper.

I found an apartment in Bristol! Wai! I'm going to be living on the Tennessee side of the city, which means I'll get some income taxes back when I file next year. Filing is going to be a pain in the butt. I'll have to do federal taxes, Virginia taxes (since the physical location of the newspaper is on the Virginia side of Bristol) AND Alabama taxes! Good thing Tennessee doesn't have state income tax...for now.

The apartment is really nice. It's the size of my current apartment, but the rooms are smaller. Why? Because....I HAVE A LAUNDRY ROOM!! With a washer/dryer hookup! I am so going to slave until I get my own washer and dryer. I have finally reached one of the pinnacles of happiness :-) I also have a fireplace, which will be interesting. Megan...fire...I figure to save on power and groceries, I can always roast hot dogs in the fireplace.

My last day working for the Selma Times-Journal is tomorrow. My first day working for the Bristol paper is next week. So, here's my schedule between now and then:

Monday - Last day of work at the STJ. Normal schedule.
Tuesday - Travel to Montgomery to see my dad when he passes through with the drum corps.
Wednesday - Travel to Tuscaloosa to say good-bye to the gang up there.
Thursday-Saturday: PACK
July 27 - Take the cats to Mama's house and then start the 8-hour haul to Bristol. Stop in Birmingham to see Mack. I will be bunking on the couch of some friends of my friend, James for a week because the apartment's not available yet.
July 28 - Begin work at the Bristol Herald Courier.
August 1 - As soon as I get off of work, get back in the car and drive back to Selma
August 2-3: Move my furniture and the cats up to Bristol. Pray I can actually get into my apartment by then.

Interesting two weeks, eh? I'm so going to die when it's over!
