Beast of Burden

savvyliterateWhen you're working at a newspaper and manage to get as lucky as I am - namely in a job with lots of responsibilities - you get faced with what I term "Beasts of Burden," aka special sections. I just finished our latest one, Impact 2003. It is one of the most important things that the paper does all year. It tells about industry and its impact on Dallas County. And yes, we actually do have some industry! http://www.selmaeda.com has a lot on it.
Anyhow, that is finished! Wai! Tonight I get to design a feature package on Kathryn Tucker Windham. I'm nervous about that. The woman is LEGEND here. She wrote a series of books starting with "Thirteen Alabama Ghosts and Jeffery." The series jumps around the South and is all ghost stories narrated by Jeffery. Mrs. Windham is a really neat lady. I hope I do a good job with it.
