Spoilers: If you know who Mels is, you're good.
"I … I just want to know," Rory stammered as he prayed he wasn't sweating all over Amy's hand, "if it's too early in our relationship to well … um …"
"Well, what? Rory, we've known each other since we were 7 years old. If you want to do something, just do it."
Amy would later let Mels believe that she'd made the first move. It's what everyone expected after all. But Rory was the one who did it, displaying the inner courage, patience and fortitude that would be absolutely necessary to make it through the beginning of their marriage. He quickly leaned in, pressing his lips to Amy's. Their teeth clacked a bit, and her lips were dry and a bit chapped, but kissing Amelia Pond was the absolute best thing Rory Williams had ever done.
When he pulled back, Amy stared at him with a mixture of shock, fear, and intrigue.
Then she kissed him back.
"So, you kissed, right?" Mels asked the next day.
"Of course. Would you expect me to do anything else?" Amy said breezily.
Mels knew better. She caught Rory's eye, mouthed, "Nice job," and he blushed.
