That monster is less than 90 miles from Montgomery and is heading in that direction. I spoke to both parents yesterday and they're staying put. So's my brother in Troy. Daddy told me that I can try calling tomorrow, but they're not sure if the phone lines or the cell towers would be working.

Because the remanents of Ivan are scheduled to make my life miserable tomorrow night and Saturday, I went ahead and started an emergency supply closet. It's something that I need to be doing anyhow. This area of the country is long overdue for a bad blizzard, and so I need to have some things tucked away. I raided Krogers and got canned food, three gallons of drinking water (I'm keeping one in the car), batteries, candles, matches, disposible utensils and an extra bag of cat food. I combined that with a roll of paper towels and some extra toilet paper I have and placed it in a big Rubbermaid box and it's now safe inside one of my end tables. I finally found a use for those things!

I'm going to Jonesborough today to do a story I'm looking very forward to, so I can get my mind off it for awhile. The weather is starting to get icky here. We're getting the outer bands of Ivan and it's already rained some as they passed over. I just hope it's not raining while I'm driving to and from Jonesborough - or when Earl and I are walking through downtown.

In the middle of everything, I forgot to thank [livejournal.com profile] calger459 for the lovely wallpaper of Inuyasha she sent me. ::hugs::

Did I ever mention that the Inuyasha fandom is the strangest I've ever been in?

It's okay for someone to say that they would like to punch in the face of a fictional 15-year-old girl. If you call him out on it, you're hostile. But if you dare say any legitimate criticism against another character (such as Kikyou), then you're called a rabid fangirl.

It's things like this that make me miss SMRFF and the Sailormoon fandom. Even PuD is very mild compared to this!

By the way, once again, I applaud [livejournal.com profile] missandrony for her wanking of PuD. Brava!
