Olympics? Bleh...
I wonder if I am the only person who does not care to watch the Olympics? I find the figure skating neat in the Winter Olympics, but other than that, I really don't give a damn about it. Jeff and I went out to eat at Applebee's yesterday and watched as Puerto Rico slammed dunked the USA basketball team. I was hardly intrested. I woke up this morning to Jeff leaving the TV tuned to MSNBC and watched a little of the USA softball team crushing Japan's. But, it still didn't intrest me beyond the flashy logo Japan's team was using.
Perhaps if there was more events I would be interested in, then I would actually care. For instance, how about Olympic Marching Band? Or even football? Then, I'd care!
All of the recent LJ drama has made me think about the final chapter of "The Deep and Savage Way" a lot and how I'm outlining the events. Most of it centers around Inuyasha and Kikyo's relationship - what it consisted of 50 years prior to the series beginning and how it fell apart. And, for people like
rehashed_kure who thought it was something else, that's what I want to talk to
anese about. As a Kikyo/Inuyasha fan, I think she will be able to give me her perspective on those events. I've been talking to Kagome/Inuyasha fans about this, but I also want to speak with Kikyo/Inuyasha fans as well. After all, a good journalist and a good writer gets both sides of the story.
It's sad, yet amusing at the same time. I tend to be one of those people who manage to make friends with folks who really don't care for each other. My feelings on the issue is that there are a lot of very interesting people in the world, and if you allow differences of opinions to keep you from making a friend, then you're depriving yourself of a grand experience. Life is too short to spend it bullying and belittling people, and I hate to see people do that to others. So, I do speak out against that - mainly because I've been in that place before.
