Interviewing
Well, in an effort to curb going out to eat, if I forget to make my lunch, I'm making myself go home for lunch.
It's not that bad. It's a nice break in the middle of the day.
This weekend was pretty good. I FINALLY found a computer desk that I liked and bought it on Sunday. It was only $70 and it's not a bad desk at all. I actually have room to spread out and work on stuff! If I feel like bringing my monitor forward, I can do that as well. The other nice thing is the construction and the two high shelves for my printer and a lamp. The old desk and some other stuff are going sayonara to the Salvation Army, in an effort to minimize what stuff I have in here.
lord_darkseid asked me about interviewing and shooting photography. I don't know as much on the latter as I do the former. I'm an unusual type of reporter. When I first go in on interviews, I do what I can to get my subject interacting with someone else (usually the photographer that goes with me.) That's how I can see their real personality. When they're fixed on me, I can tell they think "she's the reporter." I do my best to put the subjects at ease by being as relaxed and friendly as possible. I am trying to learn from these people about the situation going on. They're the experts. I'm not. I don't need to pretend I am one.
I do meet the most interesting people on assignment and visit some of the neatest places. By the way,
shamaneyes, I bought a present for you today when I was out at Inari Wines doing a story. Except a package in the next few days.
Welcome to the LJ,
calger459! She is the author of some of the BEST Rurouni Kenshin fanfics out there. Speaking of Kenshin fics, I finally worked on "For This Dojo's Honor" last night. I am almost done with chapter five and hope to post it tonight or tomorrow. After that, only two more to go!
