And so I am going to get the kitten.

Sharon named her Tillie, for the railroad tracks she was found on. I’m probably going to rename her Kirara (key-lah-lah for those of you who don’t know Japanese), after Sango’s cat on “Inuyasha.” Kirara is a youkai (monster) that can transform into a large beast. While I don’t think my little Kirara will, from what Sharon’s told me, her personality is so sweet that she will resemble her namesake a lot.

To prepare for her, I’m trying to have Lil’Bit and Peekaboo sleep with me at night. The first night was fine. This morning, even though I was sleeping in, they both decided to wake me up at 7:30 a.m. by licking my face and other non-exposed parts of my body. Finally Lil’Bit abandoned the bed and Peekaboo curled up next to me and fell asleep again.

As of today, I HAVE INSURANCE AGAIN! Squee! I’ve got an eye appointment tomorrow and my annual torture exam on Friday. This will be my first eye checkup in two years and the first time I’ve gotten glasses since my senior year of high school. I’m very pumped about that. I had vision with Selma for a little while, but right before I was about to use it, they canceled it.

I managed to recreate my favorite Java J’s drink at home - hopefully saving some money in the process. I also baked bread and foccacia on Monday. I intend to keep on doing that. Baking breads is a lot of fun! I love having the time and the kitchen to do fun stuff like this, plus in the end, it’s cheaper than me having to go out all the time and buy special breads such as foccacia. I’m a good cook too! Now all I need is someone to cook for that can give me feedback other than purrs.
