Bald Eagle

There is a bald eagle in the newsroom.

I kid you not, there is literally a bald eagle in the newsroom right at this moment. An advocate for the eagles just walked in with one, a really pretty bird. They're trying to promote Tennessee license plates that will have a picture of a bald eagle on them and that will go towards preserving them. Pretty neat, huh?

One of the reasons I chose to go into journalism is because there is NEVER a dull moment around here.

The worst of the week from hell is over. I've written five of the stories that I needed to and I think I'm going to nudge one of the others back into next week. I've completed my Empire front and it looks fantastic. Now I get to start playing with the Sunday Community front.

I fell asleep on the couch last night, slept there until 1 a.m., then moved to my bed where I slept until 6. I'd gotten nine hours of sleep - a lot for me! I feel a lot better, unlike the half-asleep person who tried to keep a conversation with Stef last night.

So since I got to work early, I may leave early today. I'm not sure yet. Still need to track down the Dobyns-Bennett band director...

It's all worthwhile

I think I just found my reward for making it through this week...."Remember When," the Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb double book came out this week.

I'm ecstatic. I snatched it up tonight. God bless Wal Mart and its $18 hardcovers. More Eve and Roarke goodness. aishuu, do you have it yet???
