Last day on my own

Meep! This time tomorrow, I'll most likely be in Newark pacing at the IKEA near the airport, or on my way there. Knowing me, I'll probably be there already. It'll be my first long road trip in the new Fit, which is going to get quite the workout between tomorrow and going down to Tennessee this coming week.
I had the mammogram and ultrasound yesterday, and the determination is that while my breasts are weird, they're healthy. The thickness on the left was indeed normal breast tissue. They had to take a lot of images because apparently my breast tissue isn't asymmetrical. I do have a couple of lymph nodes in my right breast, however, so they want to make sure everything is normal with those. I'll be going back for another mammogram on my right breast in six months since this just established my baseline, then I'll have another full set done at this time next year.
The mammograms weren't as painful as I thought, though they did hurt some. The technician was really great and explained that the horror stories mainly came from when mammograms were done via film. Digital's made it a lot easier now, and they've changed the machines to add comfort. For example, they rested my breast on a comfortable pad. I joked that this was the most action they've gotten since July. It was actually really fascinating. I got to see both the digital images of my breast and was walked through the ultrasound. The only painful part was when they were focusing just on the thick area of my breast and had to compress it tighter to get a good picture.
I promised myself ice cream if I was a good girl during the mammogram, so I had just enough time to stop by Dairy Queen and get home before the Doctor Who "Children in Need" sketch aired, which I watched with
gidget_zb over MSN. It was hilarious. My commentary on how River and Amy most like engineered it can be found in two parts on Tumblr: Part 1 and Part 2.
Since apparently I wasn't meant to sleep more than four hours today, I'm going to go ahead and do chores so I'm not doing them all when I get back from the airport tomorrow night. Here's a Saturday fic dump of recent Eleven/River works:
Special Delivery (hosted on Tumblr)
So many nights we'll still spend together
Christmas Eve with the Ponds
Then Again, Maybe He Will
The Observations of Amelia Pond
The Unicorn and the Doctor
You know, what's so funny (and sad) about this is that none of these are related to my original NaNo project or the substitute Easter Island one. Charina estimates I've probably written a good chunk of a NaNo fic in separate stories, Namesake scenes, etc. Apparently, my muse is taking NaNo as a sign to rebel. So, I most likely won't complete it. Ah well, life happens. At least I'm writing, and that's the important thing!
