So Tumblr exploded yesterday over the news of a possible Doctor Who movie that's completely unrelated to established canon. I've aired my POV over there, but [livejournal.com profile] kilodalton gave her husband's theories on how it could work. If it did, then I could buy it. It really depends on where Yates would take it. Her idea was to go early, early One and have it be set in the Academy and it be a Doctor Who take on the Harry Potter franchise. My idea was that if they're going for a Harry Potter-style DW, then the new Harry, Ron and Hermione would be the Doctor, Drax and the Rani. Rassilon would be Dumbledore, and the Master would be Draco. Catherine Tate could play the Academy's version of McGonagall. It'd be so hilarious it'd almost work and not threaten the current continuity that much.

I have feelings, lots of feelings, on Sandusky's appearance on NBC last night, but those will be in a locked post. Essentially, though, I couldn't watch it. It made me so angry, and when I was describing it to my boss later (he'd been on the phone getting the main story lawyered), I wound up crying a bit because I was so furious. My boss wound up telling me about how he helped cover Elvis Presley's death by scoring an interview with Pat Boone, which was really, really cool. My front for today made the Newseum top 10 again though, which was also cool.

I gave Isa the next batch of sentences, and I hope to finish writing this next scene for Namesake today. We finally hit more than 10,000 readers, but that was because of a well-placed ad. We'll keep targeting ads to different areas and boost readership. I have three freelance pieces due today, and depending on how much I get done, I'll be working ahead a bit. I'll most likely be spending tomorrow cleaning the apartment. I managed to install the shower shelves in the bathroom yesterday, but told Mike that if he hears something come crashing down, he'll have his first "honey-do" project. The baskets are Target were beyond expensive, so I'll be digging through the closet in the office for the matching basket I got at IKEA last year so Mike has a place for stuff in the bathroom. It looks like there's an IKEA close to Newark airport, so if need be, I can swing by there Sunday morning and grab another.
