Doctor Who meme: Days 7-12
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I finished "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" last night and was extremely charmed. I admit to looking at cheats for the very last few puzzles because I was so tired and wanted to see what would happen when I beat the game.
In an effort to clear my head, I went walking along the Susquehanna River before work yesterday. It did a lot to clear the fog from my brain. I took my camera and left behind my phone so it was just me taking photos by the river for an hour. I'm in the process of toning and posting them to Picasa, so when that's done, I'll do a photo post. I'm doing some artistic toning, and I'm quite pleased with some of the results.
To continue with the Doctor Who 30-day meme ...
Day 7 - Favorite Episode
"The Doctor's Wife." It's the best episode I've seen of the series, both classic and revival, to date. It's beautifully written and everyone here is pitch-perfect. It's a love letter to Doctor Who fans, and the Doctor and Idiris are just beautiful together. From Amy and Rory being terrified by House to the Doctor and Idris building their own TARDIS from an abandoned console to jettisoning rooms to the final showdown in Nine/Ten's console room, it was just fantastic.
Day 8 - Favorite Series/Season
Series 6 followed very closely by series 1 and 4. I judge a series by how likely I'll go re-watch episodes, and I find myself reaching for series 6 and series 1 the most.
Day 9 - Least Favorite Episode
"Love and Monsters." I just couldn't finish it.
Day 10 - Favorite Scene/Moment
I have to choose just one? There's so many. Every moment between the Doctor and Idris in "The Doctor's Wife;" River's revelation at the end of "A Good Man Goes to War;" The Doctor and Donna's reunion in "Partners in Crime;" The Doctor's speech to Rose at the end of "The End of the World" and she asks him to go with her for chips; The entire scene atop the pyramid in "The Wedding of River Song" plus Amy's showdown against Madame Kovarian; Rose!Bad Wolf eradicating the Daleks in "Parting of the Ways." The Doctor taking the vortex out of Rose. Martha's "This is me, getting out," which was awesome for her.
Day 11 - Scene/Moment that makes you cry
Only two scenes in Doctor Who have made me cry: Rose's farewell to the Doctor in "Doomsday" and River's speech in "The Wedding of River Song" where she tells the Doctor how much he's loved throughout the universe.
Day 12 - Scene/Moment that makes you giggle
Like with day 10, there's several. The Doctor and Donna discovering each other again in "Partners in Crime" followed by the epic mime scene; The Doctor's very delayed reaction to Rory's appearance in "The Pandorica Opens"; The Doctor acting like a spoiled brat in "Time of Angels" because he's impressed by River and he's doing his best not to be; the Doctor and Melody's standoff in "Let's Kill Hitler!;" Donna saving the Doctor from being poisoned by giving him a shock in "The Unicorn and the Wasp."
