Yes, I really do own Simon's Cat it seems

Peekaboo loves to chew on things like plastic bags ... and my MacBook Air cord.
I was typing away when I hear Peekaboo chewing on something, then suddenly my laptop stops charging. I look down and Peekaboo is chewing on the bloody power cord. I prod his massive bulk aside and see that he's managed to chew into the cord and some of the wire bits are poking out. Ergo, dead power adapter.
Insert lots of internal cussing. A replacement cost $80. Guess I'm heading to Best Buy before work.
That poor adapter has been through abuse. The cats will tear about after each other and go through the cord, yanking it from the wall, from the laptop or both.
But, it's a bit nuts really. The cats haven't chewed through the computer cord before, and I've had much longer cords. I told Mike the new MacBook Air adapters must be laced with catnip. Rearranging the living room wouldn't solve the problem, nor would getting the extension and threading it behind the bookcase because there'll still be cord left out for the cat to chew on. Plus, rearranging wouldn't really work since the bookcases are anchored to the wall, and I am not relocating those! Mike suggested unplugging the laptop after each use, which might be the way to go.
Edit: Here's the culprit laying on the evidence, purring away and quite satisfied with himself.
Peekaboo. *sigh*
