Random note: As of Friday, I've been at the Patriot-News a full year.

I'm almost ready for the trip. The main suitcase is packed with the exception of a shirt of Mike's he really wants and I can't find. Mike said that the baby is engaged, and our sister-in-law should deliver any day now, which hopefully means while I'm there. I can't wait to hold a little newborn ... or to find out the sex! I dropped by JCPenney the other day and looked through the adorable baby clothes, but most are gender-specific, so I didn't buy anything.

The living room is cleaned and I finally stowed the boxes Mama brought up. The kitchen is clean with the refrigerator mostly cleaned out. The laundry for the trip is done, and I'll run a load of towels for home tonight. I just need to clean the bathroom and finish up some computer work for Namesake. I have Pixelmator now, and the more I use it, the more I love it, and that takes care of our pages. I also checked out my InDesign license, and I am authorized to install it on the laptop as long as the desktop version isn't running at the same time. So, that gives us a bit of breathing room on the Namesake book. I have made my traditional mutterings over my fear of crashing flying, so we're all set! I'm going to download a couple more books for the Kindle. I have two history books and a Regency romance tucked away, but I think I'm also going to grab the new Laurie R. King novella "Beekeeping for Beginners" and the first book in George R.R. Martin's "Song of Fire and Ice" series to try.

[personal profile] ickaimp and I got upgraded to business class for the flights out thanks to our awesome, awesome friends Sarah and William! In return, we're smuggling The Stig from Top Gear back in Icka's luggage somehow. There's no business class on the Harrisburg to Chicago flight, but I get my own seat anyhow. *boogies* We're right in the front row of business class, and we're so stoked. Thank you again, Sarah and William!
