I’ve got a problem.

I was told by my landlady this morning that I’m only allowed to have two cats. Hence, she’s implying that I have to give up Kirara. Now, she didn’t order me to do this right away, but I know it’ll be in the future. I told the landlady I was just fostering her right now, so she was very nice about it. Of course, that’s not the truth.

Now, the landlady only enters my apartment four times a year - to change the fire alarm batteries and my air filter. Other than that, she stays out. So, I’ve got three options.

1) She lets us know before she enters the apartment, so whenever I have that advanced notice, I can just take Kirara out for the day. I can take her to James’ or I’ll take her to work with me for a few hours until it’s over and I can take her back in the house. Another option is to shut all three cats into the bathroom or the laundry room for a few hours too.

2) Train Kirara to become an outdoor cat. Out of the three, she’s the only one with claws. Yet she’s only five months old and I still need to get her fixed. I’m scared she’ll run off or something bad will happen to her.

3) I e-mailed Mama this morning asking her for advice. She offered to adopt Kirara. While that option is the safest, it’s actually the one I want to do the least. The thought of giving up my little ball of purr that lies on my hands no matter how hard I try to remove her makes me want to cry. Still, if I’m forced to give her up, I’d give her to my mother first before surrendering her to the humane society.

Any advice on what I should do? I don’t want to give up any of my “children.” Last night, I watched as Peekaboo and Kirara snuggled up together to sleep. At one point, Peekaboo woke up long enough to lick Kirara. They looked so cute together. I don’t want to yank Kirara around again.
