The co-worker from work came over on Sunday, and we spent a happy few hours watching tons of stuff: The latest Doctor Who, Tangled and I finally began to watch BBC's Sherlock. Spoiler-free thoughts include:

"Night Terrors" (Doctor Who): Judging from Internet reaction, I was expected to be scared like with "Blink" and "The Empty Child." Instead ... I wasn't? It was a good episode regardless, and Rory really, really had the best lines in all of series 6 to date.

Rory is awesome as always )

Oh, Rory. You're just made of more and more win.

"Study in Pink," episode 1 of BBC's Sherlock: Right. In the inevitable Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover (because both are headed by Moffat), I'm quite sure the universe will implode from sheer awesome and heads exploding. Want an idea of the potential awesome? Watch this fan video. Now.

Tangled: Julia hadn't seen Tangled before, so we watched it. Loved it as always, but am still rather creeped out by Mother Gothel. It was the first time I'd broken open the Blu-ray, and it looks fantastic.

In the land of epic fail, I completely forgot that we were starting work 30 minutes early, so for the first time I was late to work. I made up for it by staying 30 minutes late and editing most of the Go! calendar. On Thursday, I have training for features. I work 11-7, which I've only done a couple of times before. I really, really hope I don't sleep in, but I've been getting up between 9-10 lately.

I did spend most of my first day off working on freelance. I've been doing the audio TUAW Daily Update lately, and to my surprise, I'm actually really good at it. Apparently my voice works well on radio. I spent six hours at the coffee house I frequent working on various articles and Namesake. After viewing [livejournal.com profile] lorelaisquared's extremely organized Scrivener files, I was inspired to finally clean up and organize the Namesake ones. I began scripting out the last scene in chapter 6 tonight, and hope to be done with it by some time tomorrow. I'll probably just stick close to home today, especially since I have the awesome task of cleaning the bottom of the pantry. Why?

Good news: I found the source of flies I've spent ages trying to find.
Bad news: I found a bag of potatoes that'd gotten knocked beneath some plastic bags and left there ... for months. The smell is hideous and the entire thing was surrounded by what had to be dozens of flies. I managed to seal the garbage bag but have to wait for the rain to stop long enough to run it out to the dumpster. The potato monster lurks in my trash can until then.

Mike thinks it's adorable and funny because he's not here. I think I'll save a potato just for him.
