We're going to Oxford today! I'm as excited about that as I was seeing "Much Ado About Nothing" with David Tennant and Catherine Tate yesterday. Which, by the way, the play was amazing. I really hope the petitions to get a DVD release work, because this play deserves one. It's a perfect vehicle for both of them, and it struck me that it's only the second Shakespeare comedy I've seen in a live performance. I've tended to just go to the dramas. I don't remember laughing this much in a long, long time.
And Tennant can pull of a sparkly shirt and jeans skirt really well.
I was highly amused by the guy two seats down from me who appeared to have this huge crush on Tennant. He sighed, clasped his hands together and squealed like a girl when Benedick and Beatrice kiss at the end of the play.
Pictures and more thoughts later!
