Go forth and make stuff!
I decided to do something positive with the emotional energy from the other day and followed the motto from
fibergeek (someone I don't know, but is friends with several of my SCA friends) to "go forth and make stuff."
Mom made a baby blanket for the future Heaton niece/nephew (my in-laws wanted to be surprised), so I dropped my blanket plans and instead made a little binkie for the baby to clutch:
It didn't take long at all, and I can imagine the baby as a toddler dragging this around. It was my first experiment felting, which was a great excuse to wash jeans. It's very soft and cuddly, and I think my in-laws will love it.
Saw the mug shot, etc. of my brother. He was released on $5K bond yesterday. Wonder how he got the money because none of the family gave it to him. Guess his deadbeat girlfriend must have sold something for it. I'm so glad the kids are in Georgia and staying there for the time being.
I got an early invite to Google+ and I like it so much better than Facebook at this point. It's very easy to filter out people, and the video conferencing blows Skype away (Free vs. paid? Yes, please.) I can see this eventually supplanting Facebook since there's true privacy here when desired.
