Mental health day
Apparently I very much needed a mental health day, because I spent all Tuesday pretty much not near a computer. What little time I was online I generally just surfed and played a couple Facebook games. I slept, blew through the first two books in the Hunger Games trilogy and did some shopping. I headed back to Camp Hill Borders to take advantage of the closing sale there once more, which is again, very sad. There were only a couple of books that were cheaper that were worth the prices though: I got the hardcover of Gotham City Sirens #2 for Mike (which I will read as well) and a romance novel for me. I nearly picked up a boxset of Maus, but it wasn't a must-have, and
secondlina was right to point out that the last thing I need to read is something catastrophic.
Ironic given that I'm reading The Hunger Games.
My mother-in-law sent me this huge care package for my birthday that included a lace shirt, chocolate-covered toffee, white chocolate cocoa, a cross-stitch kit and some small laundry I'd left in the wash when I came back. My co-workers and I devoured the toffee. I'm going to have to ask for more or get some when I'm over there. British chocolate is still the best ... and this especially comes to the hot cocoa. I finally broke into that tonight, making a cup while I read the romance novel. It easily ranks among the best hot chocolate I've ever had, especially from a mix. It's extremely rich and has little white chocolate chips that melt in the milk (no water for this sucker), which melt and can be scooped up with a spoon or finger when you're done. Oh, it's a little taste of heaven.
I got asked to do the Con-nichiwa program guide today, which is going to be the same layout as last year. As soon as they get me the materials, I'll put it together fairly quickly.
The only downside to today was that I didn't get to the post office before it closed. *grumbles* OK, first thing on the list for today. I finished all of Mike's immigration papers early Monday, so just need to add a passport photo that I'll grab at the CVS on the way there and finally get those in the mail. I'm excited, yet terrified at the same time. I hope this process goes smoothly.
