Where's my spring??

Seriously, can it be spring yet? The huge snow piles were almost gone, then suddenly we got a surprise snowstorm last night. It'd been raining pretty hard all day -- finally cleaning the car of the dirt from the Montreal trek -- but suddenly changed to several inches of snow last night. A good bit of it has melted already, but apparently there was damage to my balcony roof that they came and fixed today, and I also had to scramble to make sure the newsroom staff got home safely last night since I was in charge. That meant booking a hotel room for one person and pushing everyone else out the door as fast as possible.

But, not for the first time, I thanked my common sense for getting an apartment so close to the paper. The snowstorm had come so suddenly that no plows were out, so I had to inch my way home at about 20 mph.

I got up a little after noon and saw they were plowing the parking lot. The guy in the truck saw me peeking out the window with Lil'Bit in my arms and kept scowling at me because my car was the only one still in its spot. So sorry I work nights. I grabbed CB and the charger and headed to Barnes and Noble for the afternoon.

It's weird. I feel productive, yet I don't feel like I got anything done at all. I wrote two freelance articles for TUAW and another chunk of Namesake script. I think it's that time of month is causing me to be tired and achy. Bleh. I think I'm going to do some housework and curl up with tea, knitting and Bones, along with a kitty or two in my lap.

Speaking of knitting, I finally got one of the Nutkin socks done. I really like how it turned out, and I'll be sure to grab a photo. I'm definitely going to have to use a larger needle size if I do bigger ones as gifts. I cast on the second sock Saturday. I also need to post up the photos of the hat I made for earthstar_moon that I finished a couple weeks ago.
