Mookies!

Today is Mookie day!

Mookies are a unique treat made on a llama ranch outside of Jonesborough. The word was coined because to the creator, they didn't taste like a muffin, nor did it taste like a cookie. Hence, creation of the mookie.

They're pretty good. David Crigger (chief photog) and I traveled to the llama ranch last Friday to do a story on the mookies and the llamas. The funny thing was that the Knoxville News-Sentinel did a story on mookies a couple weeks ago and Jeff laid out the page. So, now we're in a friendly competition to see who has the better design - him or me. Hehehe...I'll let y'all know when I win.

I got a suite pass to next Friday night's Busch 250 race at Bristol Motor Speedway. I'm looking forward to this one since I liked it the last time. Plus, I noticed some other folks from the newsroom won passes, so I'll have more people to talk to. Since I only got one pass, this means I didn't have to pick which of my parents or Jeff to offer it too. Whew! Jeff has to work then anyhow and Daddy said he couldn't make it.

I got an offer to go out to Norfolk (near Virginia Beach) Sept. 10-12 to do some critquing at a conference. So, I've decided to go. Once again, Jeff will be working so he can't go with me. But, I'm pretty excited about going. It's a good chance to get great career experience.
