Yesterday was pretty eventful.

I managed to haul my butt out of bed and get to work by 8:30 a.m. Just as I'm getting into the elecTriCity pages, my cell rings. It's the cable company letting me know that they're ready to come turn on the cable. So, I go back home and proceed to wait an hour for the cable guy, then another hour for them to get the damn thing turned on and hooked up. Grr...

So, I go back to work and Joe is there to film his segment. Naturally, it is mass chaos as he's nervous and so takes that nervousness out on Jen and then me. So, I walk over to help Jen with him when I notice this huge bouquet of roses sitting on my desk.

I gawked at them. "I got roses," I whispered as Joe kept asking for someone, anyone, to turn the TV behind me off.

It's a vase with a dozen roses, interspersed with baby's breath and greenery with a red teddy bear tied around the vase. Yes, they were from Jeff and it also came with a card from him. No, I will not reveal the contents of said card.

I went through the next few hours with what Earl termed as "a goofy smile." "There you go, getting all goofy on us," he teased me.

In the afternoon, I headed to the publisher's office and talked to him about another newspaper starting to seek me out for a position that they have. I was nervous about telling Steve. Jim said that he was behind me and urged me to talk to Steve.

So I did.

Steve was wonderfully supportive. He would hate to lose me, he said, but definitely check into the other offer. He asked that all I do is sit down and talk to him before I make a final decision. I have such a great boss!

Then I returned to my desk, gawked at my roses some more and got my pages done. Then, I got my hair cut, went out to eat with James, then he got on my computer and began chatting with Jeff through IMs.

"Dear God, please let them like each other," I thought.

Then I tried to show James the wonders of having a DVR...only to find that the damn service wasn't activated!!!! I had cable, just not the digital recording (think TiVO) service itself. So, I called Charter this morning to deal with that.

James went home and Jeff helped me with my resume some more. He said he was going home from work, so I agreed to wait for him. It would take him about 15 minutes, so I went and laid down for a 15 minute nap...and woke up at 9 a.m. Whoops. I got 10 hours of sleep out of that at least... I had no idea that I was so tired. I guess I've been keeping pretty late nights lately.

And Inuyasha manga ch. 332 is getting an entire episode of the anime!!! Episode 160 - "The Two-Timing Aggressive Bastard who brings Happiness." Gosh, that fits so well! I am very happy.
