I had a lot of fun in Knoxville over the weekend. I wound up going down Friday night and staying until Sunday, because I pulled the typical college-student deal - being bored, I went ahead and went. Jeff and I were actually planning out his Sunday Local section and I wanted to show him an idea I had. So, I suggested I go ahead and come down. He thought it a crazy idea and loved it, so I headed on down.

My entertainment for the trip there was provided by Celeste and [livejournal.com profile] caligogreywings. I miss you two so much!

We had fun. I got to see the Knoxville News-Sentinel and started to learn my way around the area. On Sunday, we went down and saw the renovated World's Fair park in downtown Knoxville. It is completely gorgeous, and I hate that I didn't have my camera with me. I'll have to cart it with us next time we visited there. He also showed me downtown Knoxville itself, which is really rundown in several places.

Jeff also reintroduced me to cable TV. Considering that I now will have someone to appreciate it alongside me (and I've reacquainted my love for VH1 and the Food Network), I'm calling Charter today about adding cable to my account.

On the way home, I called and informed my mom of this development. He called and told his mother too. Both mothers are ecstatic and are planning trips to Tennessee. BTW, I told him about the shotgun, James. He now has a nickname for you, "Shotgun James." I think it fits!!!
