I had a long talk with [livejournal.com profile] shamaneyes on the phone Sunday night about listing priorities. He talked about making a list of needs and wants and keeping organized.

Guess who is scatterbrained? Me!

I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] eagle222 last night and reflected on how when I was in junior high school, we were forced to keep an appointment book with all of our homework assignments in it. I was a lot more organized then! So what happened? Not sure, I blame it - and a lot of other things - on my high school.

So now I started listing in my PDA all the little things I need to do: Things such as respond to e-mail, check for TV grids and formatting them....ah, crap....::goes to do that real quick:: and other stuff. It’s worked out so far. Except now I’ve lost my stylus....::glances at the mountain of papers on her desk.::

I filmed another TV segment yesterday. I am going to get my hair cut and styled differently. What do I want? I’m not sure. I just know I didn’t care for the way I looked when I stared into that monitor yesterday. I forgot to tape my latest segment. I still haven’t watched the last one.

I also spent a good deal of time on the phone with my co-worker, Joe Tennis. Joe has the ability to drive you insane. But he is also the person who will sit there and proceed to tell you exactly what your strengths are. He was dicussing a few typos that slid by in my Dante story and then we talked about my style of reporting. I tend to observe more than ask questions and write about how people interact. He told me that’s what makes me such a good writer. It was nice to hear him say that.

I pulled up some of my old stories and thought about the enormous amount of pressure that I put on myself. So it’s nice to hear the kind things that Joe says. He always makes me feel better about myself. He has such a sense of humor too. I have a feeling he’s gonna wind up to be big brother #4 at this rate. Fine by me. His daughter, Mary, is absolutely adorable! His wife is very nice as well.

I’ve gotten some very good feedback on the Dante story. I got to work this morning and Steve, the editor, was raving about it. He loved it AND the design I did for it. Take a look at it and laugh at my little typo. ::grin::
