I am grateful

Ten things that I am grateful for.
I am grateful for my family - that they are healthy and happy and I will get to see them next week.
I am grateful for my friends - who accept me for who I am. I don’t have to put on an act around them, even though I still hide my true feelings sometimes.
I am grateful for my position here at the Bristol Herald Courier. It is a true, unexpected blessing that came for me at the right time and I absolutely love it.
I am grateful for my cats - though they’re not so grateful when I forget to change the litter box.
I am grateful that no matter what’s happened to me, I’ve been able to retain my sense of optimism and slight naievte about the world.
I am grateful that I have a strong faith in God, and I do not need to sit in a church to reaffirm that faith.
I am grateful that even though I have money problems, I have a roof over my head, food in my mouth and loose clothes on my back.
I am grateful for my gifts: My writing, my ability to design, and my ability to hear the one that God sent to watch over me.
I am grateful that I am able to bear my burdens, and that no matter how hard things get, I can always smile and say “Zettai, daijyobu yo.” (Everything is going to be all right.)
I am grateful because for all of its sham, dredgeries and broken dreams, the world is still a beautiful place. (This last one’s borrowed from ‘Desiderata.’)
