It's strange reading all of my friends' LJs at the moment. [livejournal.com profile] ropachanand [livejournal.com profile] kitesarevil went out on a double their with their respective significant others. [livejournal.com profile] caligogreywings's finches had babies. [livejournal.com profile] ely_chan and [livejournal.com profile] thelonepig have put up their Christmas tree and are spending their first holiday season together as a married couple. [livejournal.com profile] missandrony is finally going to go see her sweetie during the holidays. [livejournal.com profile] baine is going home. [livejournal.com profile] michaelhinman is doing a neat radio show. [livejournal.com profile] aishuu is dating...

I just feel like I'm coasting. I mean, it says something when the most exciting thing in my life right now is the release of Inuyasha episodes 133-134 fansubbed.

I'm not even excited about Christmas. Take a look at my apartment. Did I decorate this year? Nope. There's no point. There's no one to decorate FOR, no one to see it.

I feel like all I do is go to work, come home, mess around on Dragonrealms, fix a meal, chat with friends and go to bed. Rinse and repeat for the next six days (minus work for two of them.)

Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I love Bristol. I love my little apartment and my three cats and my life. But sometimes I feel like I'm standing still and the world is whizzing by. Maybe it would help if I had some friends to go out with. It took a bit of time before I found those in Tuscaloosa too.

Speaking of Dragonrealms, that's the only thing that has actually progressed for me lately. It's a multiplayer online role-playing game that I've been playing ever since I was 17. Yes, folks, that is the big secret as to why Megsie-chan gets abnormally quiet in chatrooms most of the time. She's also playing an RPG! Anyhow, my character in there is now a mentor council representative. In short, she has a huge role in helping new players getting started in the game - a role I absolutely love. And now, I've been selected to be a Game Host, which is basically a customer service representative for the game. In layman's terms, I don't have to pay for DR anymore! Squee!!

I know folks are probably saying, "Well you won't have those problems if you didn't spend so much time online." Well, going out actually takes this green stuff called MONEY - of which I have precious little of. I'm trying to hold onto all that I can to get Christmas presents and to go home. It might even be after Christmas before I get some presents to some people because of money.

And I do go out. I saw "The Last Samurai" last weekend and will go see "Return of the King" this weekend when I get paid. I go out to the mall, to the bookstores and hang out at Java J's. I am so not a bar or a party person. I went to our company party on Wednesday.

::sigh:: Oh well. I guess the best thing to do is remain cheerful, ne?
